Dust mites are commonly found in most homes. Although they are microscopic, for some unfortunate people, dust mites are the cause of allergies and misery. So, how easy is it to get rid of dust mites? It is extremely difficult to eliminate dust mites from your home, but there are some things you can do to reduce the number of them. Here are some of those ways:
One place dust mites really thrive is in bed linens. To get rid of them, you will need to clean them at a high temperature. You can either wash bedding at 140 Fahrenheit or higher or place them in the dryer on a high-temperature setting for around 10 minutes.

Another way to reduce the number of dust mites in the home is to regularly dust and vacuum. Clean surfaces with a slightly damp cloth to prevent redistribution of dust from one surface to another. If possible, your vacuum cleaner should be one that has a HEPA filter. Don’t forget to include all textiles as well as flooring when you vacuum.
Air purifiers can be used to help people with allergies. While they will help with dust mites, they will only eliminate those that are airborne. Since dust mites are not usually in the air, an air purifier will not completely get rid of them.
Keep humidity inside the home as low as possible. Dust mites thrive in humid homes. Having good ventilation will also help.
